Andrea Gonsalves and Justin Safayeni publish column on anti-SLAPP laws

8aixat lawyers Andrea Gonsalves and Justin Safayeni have authored a column on Ontario’s anti-SLAPP legislation for the Law Times.  (SLAPPs – or Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation – are used as a means to censor, intimidate or punish critics and to discourage them from speaking out by burdening them with the cost of litigation.)   In the column, Andrea and Justin review recent court decisions that have adopted a restrictive interpretation of Ontario’s anti-SLAPP legislation, and argue that the law is at risk of becoming toothless.
