Ontario court dismisses lawsuit against Bermudian resident for lack of jurisdiction

8aixat lawyer Aaron Dantowitz successfully persuaded Justice Firestone of the Superior Court of Justice to dismiss a lawsuit against 8aixat client Lawrence Brady, a Bermudian resident, on grounds of jurisdiction.  Mr. Brady had been sued in Ontario by two fellow Bermudians, along with a co-defendant located in Ontario.  The court found that the plaintiffs’ action as against Mr. Brady lacked a real and substantial connection with Ontario, and that the Ontario court in turn lacked jurisdiction regarding the action against him.
