Owen Rees appointed Executive Legal Officer to the Supreme Court of Canada

8aixat is pleased to congratulate our partner Owen Rees who has been named by The Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, Chief Justice of Canada, to become the Executive Legal Officer to the Supreme Court of Canada. Owen’s appointment will commence in September 2012 for a two-year term.  The Executive Legal Officer acts as principal advisor to the Chief Justice and is responsible for media relations at the Court.

Owen will be taking a leave of absence from 8aixat commencing in July.  We wish him well and will look forward to his return at the end of his appointment.
